Front desk

How to use this

Nothing here changes anything

The everyday jobs at the host stand, step by step. Read it any time — opening this page never changes the floor.

Reading the floor

  • Grey — table is open.
  • Amber outline + a time (e.g. 6:30P) — booked for later.
  • Green + a timer — guests are sitting there now.

Tap any table to open it, then choose what to do.

Seat a walk-in

  1. Bottom left, tap Walk-ins.
  2. Type their name and pick the party size. Add a mobile if you want to text them when the table is ready.
  3. Tap Add — they join the waiting list.
  4. When a table frees up, tap Seat on their row.

In a hurry? Tap a free table on the floor, choose the party size, and it seats them straight away.

Seat a reservation

  1. Bottom left, tap Upcoming to see who is due.
  2. Tap the guest’s row — their details open on the left.
  3. Check for a red ⚠ Allergy line and any note.
  4. No table yet? Tap + Add table, tap the table(s) on the floor, then ✓ Done picking.
  5. Tap Seat.

When guests leave — always do this

Tap the green table → ✓ Finish · guest left.

This is the most important step. It frees the table and keeps tonight’s guest count and each server’s numbers correct.

Big party — join tables together

  1. Tap 🔗 Combine tables (top right).
  2. Tap each table you are pushing together.
  3. Tap Combine tables again to finish — they now work as one table.

Guest never came

Tap their row → at the bottom, Mark no-show.

Do this only after you have waited and tried their number. It frees the table and records what happened.

Text someone who is waiting

On the waiting list, tap 📩 on their row to tell them their table is ready. The button only shows if you added their mobile.

Servers

  • Working now — who is on the floor. Not in today — tap a name to put them on.
  • Tap a server, then tap tables to give them a section.
  • Next means they are next in line to be seated.

Start and end of your shift

  • Top left must say Today. If it shows another date, tap Today — otherwise you are changing the wrong day.
  • ● Online means guests can book online. Tap it to pause online bookings.
  • Finished for the day? ⚙ → Sign out.

If something looks wrong

  • A red bar at the top means the tablet lost connection. Keep working — it catches up on its own. Do not close the app in the middle of seating someone.
  • A table looks busy but nobody is there? Tap it and use ✓ Finish · guest left.
  • ⚙ Settings is for managers. Please do not change anything in there — it affects both the floor and online bookings.
